I'm not doing it to make a fortune, its more something to do than anything else mate but cranks at 20 quid kills my small profit

I'll either have to put my prices up a lot or find a cheap supply of busted engines

Yes mate, way too cheap but they are going as quick as I can make them & I'm not having to stick them on ebay or advertise elsewhere which is worth a couple of quid to me

I'm only making about 20 quid out of the stools, its a lot of work for that but I enjoy it :)

Ok well I’ll hate fine i do the same with exhausts sometimes. Often make small amounts on them but I turn them around soon as I get them so a quick 20-40 quid is great. Few of those soon adds up

However just saying don’t do yourself out of dosh especially if money tight. Don’t be too expensive but being too cheap is just as bad at times.

Keep up the good work thoUgh. :ymapplause:

Cheers mike I knew you would get it mate :-bd

I did the first one & a guy made an offer on it, I thought that's ok as it wasn't all that good, the next ones were much better but the precedent on price had been set & they shift fairly quickly so I'm happy enough :)

If I had enough scrap engines I could do it as a production line & cut down on the time spent a great deal but its not going to happen lol

Having said that I have one bigger ticket item almost done & that's cost not a lot in terms of parts, I hope to get a decent amount for my time on that & I have a couple of ideas for stuff I can make from all the leftover bits that will also only cost my time so I should see a few quid in the end ;)

What sort of engine bits do you want, slim?

Cranks, camshafts, valves, holed pistons?

Its mainly cranks & rods I am short of at the minute mate, cams, balancer shafts & any gearbox parts are always useful though :)

Pretty much anything steel & interesting shaped comes in useful eventually, I have even used old sprockets a few times now

This is done differently to the ones you will have seen Mike, I don't like to copy other peoples stuff ;)

Difficult to explain what I have done but its two 1052 slabby blocks with the liners as legs & supports + a wooden top, show you in a couple of days mate, i'll be interested to know what you think :-bd

Nice , is bit different. Usually a glass top is used. Be good to see it.

My opinion is worthless as I don’t know what I’m talking about encase you hadn’t realised :)) I just like that kind of thing, repurposed stuff done well is pukka. :-bd

After the 2015 meet at Nelson's Diner I took a bit of a ride around the local roads and stumbled on the Royal Berkshire County Show

One of the trade stands was using this to attract interest, and it seemed to be working quite effectively

I would love to have the space & time to build something like the above stuff but sadly don't have enough of either

I have always done stuff like small bikes, trikes & the occasional car or cup for rally trophies, animals & people I find difficult unless its really off the wall oddball stuff that doesn't really have to be a fair representation of the real thing

This thing with stools etc came about just because I had some scrap & wanted something to sit on, suddenly everyone wanted one, a couple are in folks houses as tables to put your brew or ash tray on, one sits in a corner with a lamp I made 10 years ago sat on it & the rest are in various sheds or vans at race meetings

The bench was a case of I'm bored .....hmmm what can I do with wheels ! if I had space I'd get a production line going as everything except the two last stools & the coffee table I am working on has sold straight away

Here is the coffee table , not quite finished yet as the top needs another sanding & varnish due to a bloody spider committing suicide on it but you should get the idea ;)

Thoughts, good or bad are welcome :) any idea of what I should ask for it even more so as I don't have a clue
