Re: My new/old hobby
Did a little gold panning in Wales many moons ago. I got some tiny bits but not enough to retire on.
Would love to try it again on a stream known for its gold.

Re: My new/old hobby
For gold folks.
I'm a real novice when it comes to panning for gold, and I gotta do something to stay out of trouble.
I have several sources (14) to start with and all have started to produce nearly a gram (.900gms) of 22-24k. :ymparty:
To give you an idea
this is a 10 inch diameter pan
and now I bought this
Would you like to see my updates?

There gold in the Ochil hills just to the north of me, so if TUA ever feels like coming over to the UK, here is a link to some gold panning sites.

Toto, I've a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore.

Re: My new/old hobby
If I really thought I could find some, I would give it a go. I'm going to have a look when the weather warms up at a couple of sites. too frigging cold to go tramping up there.

Re: My new/old hobby
I bought seven classifiers, of different sizes. They range from, 1/4th, 1/8th, 1/12th, 1/20th, 1/30th, 1/50th, and 1/100th of an inch.
these are examples,
mine are of this type, which fits right over a five gallon bucket.
So after panning my this sample (and removing the gold I've found) that I've been PRACTICING with for a few months now, I find this. The dime is for comparison purposes only.
What do you think?

Re: My new/old hobby
That little lump of gold is $35?! I have a colt .45 1911, that is one of only 500 made by Socom. (Airsoft, only fires 6mm BB's) It says on the box, that is covered in 24k that is worth $30 pmsl puts my gold plating into perspective lol
There comes a point...
Oh and if you can keep your head while those around you are losing theirs, then you have obviously mis-read the situation
You say Saga? I say Bupa Mwahahahaha
