A Lovely Ride

Well the weather was so good on Wednesday that I just had to take a ride out along the coast.
For the first time this year though I did it on the man powered bike - My Cannondale Synapse.

Had a great day with fantastic views. Normally when I've done the route I tend to ride around the road at the end .... this time I decided to go up the blooming hill as well!!! Tough BUT fun

My legs ache a bit now!

just kidding, was a lovely day indeed, I took the summer bike to work that day, today however, back on the winter bike.

Sadly my synapse sits unloved in the garage. Havent been out on it since August last year and that was painful enough.

seen a few Fat Tyre bikes around (believe Cannondale do one)

look a bit stupid but I guess they good for sand and gravel?

They are good fun off road. They pretty much steam roller everything. Takes some getting used to though, those fat tyres dance around under you. But disconcerting at first.

Big thing at the moment. Tempted by one but can't afford one worth having.

Paid £750 for mine as my 50th birthday present. Sadly the knees went at 53 hence the lack of riding. Probably only get £200 for it now.

First time I saw a single-sided front fork on a pushbike was back in Switzerland in June 2008, where one of the spectators to the local stage of the Tour de Suisse was on one*

I would've included a picture but it seems tonight that the ever-unhelpful Photof**kit has chosen to make the Log-in process even more excruciating than usual, and has completely refused to recognise me at all [-( [-( [-(

a leftie is a pretty cool fork, never really caught on though, what with needing a specific frame and wheel, and being a bit of a pickle to service.
they also did one called a fatty which had the shock in the headtube. same issue.

at least cannondale try to come up with something new.
