Madsod and I were having a conversation, the way you do, and I said maybe one day I'd like to try a 900 and if possible get a newer one than my 6.

Well as luck would have it, Madsod found this one and collected it for me. I had to wait for him to do the usual things like lower it big time and check all the brake lines through.

Went out for about 40 miles and scared the c**p out of myself. Hmm. Quarter of an inch twist on the throttle produces 90mph!! So very different to the 6. So much smoooooover and responsive. Quite a bit heavier and wider too. That took some getting used to and I did find the petrol sloshing around in the tank quite noticable.

I have only taken it steady as I don't think I'm quite ready to unleash the full power of the beast. It's all very well opening it up, stopping it in a controlled manor is something else, ha ha.

I am keeping the 6 as my regular ride and hope to use the 9 on high days and holidays....

2 questions, how tall are you madsodsmissus? and how long are standard dogbones?

after having a vertically challenged workmate have a look and a sit on my 9 i reckon my 9 has been lowered; that and the previous owner has his bum closer to the ground than me!

That is one lovely looking bike!
I've always loved how the 900 has the extra 'go faster' slats on the rear side panels, would they fit the 600 would you know?

Also, I'm a bit thick tonight (well, I'm always thick, but especially tonight, when the wind is in the wrong direction or something??) what are 'dog bones'? I've not heard of them before? :D
